Turning Criticism into Growth
Criticism used to throw me off. Sometimes I can still find it hard to take but I have learned how to turn it into a tool for growth. Here’s how I approach it now:
Separate Emotion from Feedback: It’s easy to take criticism personally, but I remind myself that feedback isn’t an attack—it’s an opportunity.
Look for the Lesson: Even if the delivery is harsh, I try to find the useful nugget in the feedback. There’s usually something I can learn or improve.
Ask for Clarification: If I don’t understand the critique, I ask questions. The clearer the feedback, the easier it is to grow from it.
Apply and Improve: The real magic happens when I act on the feedback. Each adjustment I make helps me get better and sharper at what I do.
Criticism is part of the process—it’s how we improve and evolve. I’ve stopped fearing it and started using it to grow.
