Building Gratitude

Building gratitude into my routine has helped me focus on what’s going right instead of what’s not. It’s a small shift that makes a huge difference. It keeps me grounded, helps me appreciate the little moments, and shifts my mindset when life gets tough. Here’s how I’ve made it part of my day-to-day:

Coffee Kick Off with Gratitude: Every morning, I take a second to think of a few things I’m thankful for—like COFFEE (Praise be!) or the sunshine outside. It helps me start the day on a positive note.

Write It Down: This is one I am still working on. I have started tracking my workouts on a notepad. My intention is to add a few grateful notes while I workout. The notepad keeps me consistent and I hope the notes do the same and help me notice the good stuff, even when things are hectic.

Tell People When You Appreciate Them: If someone does something I’m grateful for, I make sure to tell them. Not only does it make their day, but it also reinforces the habit for me. I hope all my friends are tired of me telling them how much I appreciate them. LOL

Gratitude in Tough Moments: This one’s tricky, but when things don’t go as planned, I try to find something to appreciate. It helps me reframe challenges and keeps me moving forward. John (my husband) is super good at this. I believe as a couple we try to check each other if the other is being ungrateful.
